Description

A fine example of an original 1st generation Herman Miller ES104 Time Life Lobby Chair.  This model is the more upright and higher desk chair version (ES104) and has the 4 leg aluminium base on castors and torsion bar tilting mechanism under the chair.  The chair is also height adjustable. We estimate this model was manufactured between 1968-1980.

The chair has been fully refurbished in-house by us through a supplier who has detailed knowledge of upholstering these chairs.  We’ve handpicked a luxury hide from Alma Leather (a sample of the leather used can be sent out to prospective buyers).  The colour is black with a slight navy blue hue.  It’s super soft and tactile and of better quality than the original.

Additionally:

Tilt and height adjust mechanism has been refurbished and in full working order.  Metal base has been checked for fatigue and in solid condition.  Seat and back pads in excellent condition.  Herman Miller label worn but still visible.  Castors run smoothly.  All parts to the chair original to the chair except the leather.  This chair is now set up for another 50 years of use.
