A rare opportunity to own and customise the ultimate desk chair and timeless classic by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. This early production of the Time Life ‘Lobby’ chair was originally designed for the Time Life building in New York hence the chair’s name.

This Time Life chair (ES104 office swivel chair) has been taken apart and restored, including refreshing the seat back and arm pads, re-padding the armrests, recovering the chair in new, thick, soft aniline Italian leather (from Alma Leather London – silver grey Positano) and hand polishing the aluminium frame and 4 star caster base.  The chair castors have been cleaned and polished and roll smoothly.  The restoration has been done by a professional upholsterer who has previous experience restoring these particular chairs.

Underneath the chair it’s labelled with a Herman Miller production label and has a 1979 manufacturer date stamp. The chair was originally used in Avon Cosmetics office in the UK and still retains the office label for provenance.
