Description

A rare and recently refurbished 1980’s Herman Miller Eames Time Life or Lobby desk armchair.  This is the swivel, height adjustable and desk armchair.  A fine example of an original 1st generation Herman Miller ES104 Time Life Lobby Chair.

This model is the more upright and higher desk chair version (ES104) and has the 4 leg aluminium base on castors and torsion bar tilting mechanism under the chair.  The chair is date stamped 1985 and has its original Herman Miller label.

The chair has just been professionally recovered in leather by a upholster who has extensive knowledge of these chairs.  We only select the best quality aniline leather hides from Alma leather, London.  This hide is a light grain in chocolate brown, low sheen and beautifully soft yet hard wearing.

Additionally:

Tilt and height adjust mechanism has been refurbished and in full working order.  Metal base has been checked for fatigue and in solid condition.  Seat and back pads in excellent condition.  Herman Miller label still visible.  Castors run smoothly.  All parts to the chair original to the chair except the leather.  You won’t find a better vintage example in our opinion.
